Take advantage of maple syrup season and make this delicious golden milk. The turmeric is amazing for reducing inflammation, helps detoxify the liver and reduce blood sugar… (the cinnamon helps with this too!) You can use coconut or almond milk as you desire. Top with some frothy coconut milk and make a swirl… sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top and you’re ready to share a cup of gold with a friend.
Golden Milk
2 Cups Coconut Milk (can use almond if you wish)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon of fresh grated ginger
½ teaspoon cinnamon or 1 drop Cinnamon Essential Oil
1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or 1 scrapped vanilla bean
(Optional: small dash of cayenne pepper if desired)
TO PREPARE:
Blend with hand blender or in high-speed blender until all ingredients are very smooth. Remove and pour mixture into a small/medium saucepan and stir continuously til fully heated through (do not boil the mixture).
SERVE with frothy coconut milk on top. To froth, fill mason jar halfway with coconut milk and shake vigorously for about 30-60 seconds. Pour into small pot or saucepan to heat and then pour over your Golden Milk gently … make a circle in the centre and swirl to your heart’s desire!
