Red Wine Hot Chocolate
Serves 6-8 lovely people
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons raw brown sugar, honey or coconut sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
6 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
4 cups of organic whole milk
1 1/2 cups of an Organic fruity red wine, such as Zinfandel, Shiraz or lighter Merlot with ONE drop of Pure Essential Oil of ROSE (I like Young Living Essential Oils – pure bliss…)
Gently whisk together the chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Add milk and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring continually until hot and smooth, about 5 minutes. Stir in salt.
Remove from the heat and cool a minute. Add the wine. Pour into 8 glasses or cozy mugs, dust some cocoa powder on top and swirl in a cinnamon stick. Serve after a nice dinner that is lighter for a delightful dessert.
